What was the highlight of Nanajuana Río Dulce
Lovely stay on the Rio; a little luxury when working on your boat in the marina
Variety of room choices (we have stayed in multiple rooms over 2 visits); restaurant has tasty selections and good servers and bartenders; associated marina is also great. Staff is friendly and accommodating (thanks Elli!); pool and grounds are well maintained. Air conditioning works well in the rooms. La Rampa (cafe on the other side of the marina office) is also a good casual place for lighter snacks (yummy empanadas). We will stay here again when prepping our sailboat for the season. Both Nanajuana and next door Ram Marina have haul-out services, and are popular places for storing boats on the hard; it's a luxury having conveniently-located land accommodations when working on your boat. Oh, and besides lots of birdsong, you can hear the howler monkeys that live in the nearby jungle! If you see an insect in your room here and there, don't freak out! This is a very natural setting in the tropics; set your expectations accordingly!
Those trucks going across the bridge are LOUD, but there isn't much that can be done about that (probably most of the hotels/hostels on the Rio Dulce hear them); more noticeable in the rooms with thatched roofs. Water pressure varies by room. I guess this is a thing in Guatemala hotels, but no coffee/tea available in the rooms (they do provide water bottles every day); some rooms have mini-fridge. Similarly, maybe this is a Guatemala thing, but extra pillows aren't standard like in American hotels. Being a higher-end resort, the restaurant prices are definitely higher than other restaurants across the lake (but you need to take a tuk-tuk or lancha or long walk over the bridge to get to town -- on the flip side, Nanajuana is reachable by road; not all of the accommodations on the Rio are).

Exceptional
We liked our stay in Nanajuana very much! The hotel is beautiful, so rich in wildlife and birds sounds! Excellent rooms, pool and dining room with very good food. The stuff is very nice and helpful! Very much recommended!!!

Pool was really nice. Hot water in the shower:-)
Rooms need refurbishing aa they are a little bit okd and used. Staff could know better English.
